Here are some of my favorite pictures from my trip to Hawaii. We went to the Big Island, and Maui. Maui was by far my favorite. Everyone was super nice and friendly, the luau was phenomenal, and there was wildlife and nature EVERYWHERE!

Once we got there after our excruciating entire day of travel, we landed on the big island, and then drove straight to the hotel. The Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa. Nice place, very friendly people, but no beach, just a SWEET ASS CLIFF! It was amazing!

That's me and my dad :)

The next day we drove to Akaka Falls on the other side of the island. It was a beautiful drive, full of scenery and, to be completely honest, dumb tourists. People not used to driving on back roads surrounded by volcanic mountains should be more careful. Anyway, when I say back roads, I mean like a one and a half lane road, curvy as hell, and on the very edge of the mountain. And that's pretty much every road.
Once we got there, we parked and paid the 6$ per person to see the falls, and started on our long trail of about a quarter of a mile (sarcasm, ha). The part to actually walk down to the falls was closed off, and I wish I knew why. And if I wasn't with my parents I would have totally snuck back there and gotten the best selfie of all selfies, but I set a good example for the children when i'm around mom and dad.

This sign was pretty cool, if only it wasn't illegal to steal. I enjoy freedom.

Seeing a waterfall this beautiful was definitely a life-changing experience. I hope this isn't the last waterfall I see! I'm sure it won't be as "I be explorin'" all the time!

I am a woman in 2017, you gotta have a good selfie for social media as well. You're welcome I threw that in there.

Next, we went to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. THAT was what I was really looking forward to. LAVA! We drove nearly 3 hours to that place. The place most people in the mainland can't get to. The place that you'll see once in a lifetime. NO LAVA! The lava was another hour away by the coast, and you could "only see it at night." So that was a bust......but I got over that depression quick once my brother found a trail that lead to the bottom of the volcano crater itself.
Not like you think. The actually trail leading to the place where the lava would erupt from, was closed off due to the volcano being active at the time. That's why there's smoke in the background of the volcano picture.

This is my favorite slap-in-the-face picture to show people when they're bragging about what parks they've been to.

This one is looking up the side of the cliff that is the side of the crater. As in we are in the crater.

The rocks are sharper than you can imagine! I tried to climb into a hole but I didn't get too far.

The Queen of Volcano Rock!

I like to climb things...
Once we got our fill of thrill adventure from the volcano, we headed to a very special place, related to the volcano. I know the entire island is pretty much the volcano itself, but we stopped at a black sand beach where the sand is made of volcano rock!
The sand is not sharp at all, small little black grains of what looks just like sand, only it's black, and it's lava rock. There's a legend that you can't take any sand or lava rock home from Hawaii. In other words, sand cannot leave Hawaii's islands, unless you want a lifetime of super unfortunate bad luck. People are known to mail back hunks of rock they took from the Volcanoes National Park, or jars of sand from their various colored beaches, because they can't handle what's happening to them because of their greed.
Besides that, the beach we went to was called Ponalu'u Beach. It was beautiful! There was even a place people blocked off with a line of rocks just for the sea turtle eggs to continue creating baby turtles. One woman walked right across without even acknowledging the giant white and red sign stating that sea turtles came up on the beach frequently and to NOT WALK THROUGH THEIR NESTS! I gave her a nice lesson on the importance of signs and the impact people like her have on our ecosystem. Also, who doesn't notice a big square of rocks aligned on the ground? Stay aware folks!

I liked the wave in this one.

I always carry a backpack with me, and in it, is a pocket hammock. Always!

I said I like to climb things!

After those little adventures, we headed on to Maui. Maui-wowie is an understatement. I cannot stop thinking about Maui. I highly recommend if you only get to chose one Island, chose Maui. Maui, Maui, Maui.....that's enough of that word.
Seriously though, this was my favorite island to converse with strangers and make acquaintances. There is really no fear in my eyes when it comes to Hawaii. Everyone is the nicest they can be, always tries to make you smile. and they are very loving people who would give you the shirt off of their back if you needed it.

Our next adventure was driving down the road to Hana. I didn't know I could get car sick, but with these twisty-turney roads boy did I feel sick. I would totally do it again though, you will never get some of those views! We saw a botanical garden along the way, and you're absolutley right, we sure did stop to look!
SOME OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PLANTS I'VE EVER SEEN!!!!
You will never see anything like this! Animals roaming freely as people walk by, ponds, waterfalls, beautiful plants, giant trees, green as far as the eye can see! Here are a few photos of some voluptuous botanicals, but first, me being myself:

NOW SOME PLANTS!

This is what I call a rainbow tree.

I HAVE A THRONE IN HAWAII!

Here's a family photo at the Garden of Eden:

Breakfast always has to come with a view!

I cannot believe how magnificent the views are, all of them!!! Water surrounding the land on every side, cliffs so steep it's unimaginable....Gorgeous!

The next day, I jumped off of a 30 ft. cliff into the ocean, and landed in a group of sea turtles....so that was the best thing to ever happen. Sadly though, I can't upload videos on this blog.
This is me with my favorite Luau warrior. He was very friendly and taught me how to throw a spear.

Until next time, Hawaii.
You will be missed, and I will return, someday!
